Sedalia Police Reports for August 17, 2023

Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Valiant Gun and Pawn, 707 East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft. Dana Ashley Clark spoke with Officers, and stated her son’s phone was stolen out of the car while he was inside the Valiant Gun and Pawn. Clark valued the phone at $800.00. No arrests have been made.

Sedalia Police took a found property report Wednesday afternoon. Mark Paxton came to the lobby of the Police Department to turn in a wallet he found. Paxton stated he found the wallet near East 3rd Street and South Lafayette Avenue. The wallet has been placed into evidence.

A report of property damage was made in the 3500 block of John J. Housel Drive. William Judd reported the damage occurred Wednesday morning. There was no further information in the report on what was damaged, or the value of the damage occurred.

Wednesday morning, Officers responded to the Casey’s store, 3500 West 16th Street, in reference to a drug offense. The complainant stated the subject was possibly using drugs in the bathroom. The subject had left his wallet in the bathroom. The subject was identified and confirmed to have an active warrant for his arrest from Pettis County. The subject later returned to collect his wallet. Officers contacted the subject and he was arrested. He was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Michael Lee Waddle, 20, of Bucklin, was arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Trafficking Drugs in the 1st Degree, and his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. Waddle also had a Criminal Summons from Johnson County on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Speeding (20-25 MPH Over), and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Bond on the Pettis County warrant was set at $7500 cash or surety. Waddle was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
