Early Tuesday morning, Officers were on a bicycle patrol near South Grand Avenue and Clinton Road. There, they observed subjects walking from the Katy Trail, which was closed at the time. Then, the Officer watched them walk onto South Grand Avenue in an improper manner. The Officer then contacted the subjects. One of the subjects was discovered to have methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia. Ladonna Fay Nease, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Dangerous Drug. Nease was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police were called to the 600 block of South Missouri Avenue for a report of a complaint of an individual dumping trash into a dumpster that did not belong to them Monday evening. The complainant found mail within the dumpster addressed to a neighbor. The neighbor, when interviewed, admitted to using the dumpster for their trash. Misty Autuum Taber, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested, cited, and released on the scene.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop Monday morning on a vehicle with no license plate lights. The stop took place in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Ruth Ann Drive. After checking the driver’s information with Dispatch, it was confirmed his driving status was suspended. Trevor Ryan Cockrum, 41, of Kearney, was placed under arrest. Cockrum was cited for Driving While Suspended, then released from the scene with a court date.


 

On the evening of August 24th, Officer responded to the 1600 block of West 3rd Street for a subject check. On arrival, Officers met with the subject. A computer check with Dispatch confirmed he had active warrants through the City of Sedalia. Ronald James Blum, 58, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway While Suspended, Animal Health, and No Animal License. Blum also had an active warrant from Pettis County on charges of felony Forgery. Blum was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a total cash bond of $249.00 and $2,500 cash or surety.

Monday afternoon, Officers responded to the 700 block of West 7th Street in reference to a property damage report. Officers spoke with Phillip Curd, who stated sometime through the night someone had slashed all four tires on his vehicle. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Sedalia Police performed a traffic stop in the area of East 7th Street and South Ohio Avenue on the afternoon of August 23rd. Contact was made with the driver, and a computer check through Dispatch confirmed his license to be suspended. Jimmy Lee Linley, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Linley was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


Monday morning, Officers responded to the Police Department lobby for a theft report. Officers spoke with Robin Phillips, who stated her credit cards had bene stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the 2900 block of West Broadway Boulevard. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Officer responded to the 2600 block of Stevenson Avenue for a trespassing report last Thursday afternoon. On arrival, the suspect had left the area. He was later located at the First Christian Church Celebration Center, 1701 West 32nd Street. Christopher Scott Hellesvig, 55, Homeless, was placed under arrest. Hellesvig was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold, pending charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Hellesvig was booked in pending a cash or surety bond of $1500.


 

Monday morning, Officers responded to the 700 block of West 7th Street in reference to a theft report. Officers spoke with Kyndel A. Smith, who sated her vehicle window was broken and money was taken from inside her vehicle. No suspects have been identified at this time.
