Police reports 12-5-16

Darlene Shoemaker of Sedalia reported that someone took out a loan in her name in August, 2014.And on Dec. 1, $588.14 was taken out of her checking account to repay the loan. She said she did not authorize the loan in 2014 nor the transaction Dec. 1. There are no suspects in the case.

Carlos Alberto Cazares, 23, Sedalia, was arrested for no operator's license after a traffic stop for no taillights Thursday night at 16th and Babcock. Cazares was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released without bond. He has a court date of Dec. 21.

Laura Ashley Seidl, 29, Sedalia, was arrested Friday morning after a traffic stop for no front plate and an expired rear license plate. The driver (Seidl) was confirmed with a Cooper County warrant for Failure to Appear for no registration. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $100 bond.

Amber Vinyard reported that the front and rear tires on the driver's side of a vehicle were slashed while parked overnight at Hotel State Fair, 3402 W. Broadway, on Dec. 2. There is possible suspect information in the case.

Sedalia Police responded to a medical call in the 1600 block of Country Club at 8:44 a.m. Friday on a man having difficulty breathing. PCAD personnel worked on the man, who had a faint pulse, but he later died at the scene. Coroner Skip Smith was contacted, who responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased. McLaughlins was then contacted.

On Saturday morning at 7:10 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to a medical assist in the 110 block of E. 13th on an unresponsive subject. The SPD officer attempted life-saving measures, but was unsuccessful. The subject was later pronounced dead at the scene.

On Saturday night at 9:33 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to a medical call in which a child was unable to wake his mother in the 800 block of W. 6th Street. She was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Pettis County coroner. SPD and PCAD both responded to the call and arrived about the same time, the report indicated.

Juan M. Quetzecua, 22, Sedalia, was arrested after a one-vehicle accident that occurred at Broadway and 12th Street at 2:44 a.m. Sunday. Quetzecua was arrested for Driving While Suspended or Revoked and for No Proof of Insurance. He was wanted on a Pettis County warrant, the report said. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $493.98 bond.

On Friday morning, Justin L. Morgan reported that someone entered her house and stole $2,400 of items while she was gone from the 900 block of S. Missouri. There are no suspects.

Sedalia Police took a subject into custody at Truman Inn, 3501 W. Broadway, after it was determined that the suspect was staying in a room there for four days without paying. The subject, not identified in the report, was transported to the Pettis County Jail and held pending the filing of state charges for burglary.

A man reported the theft of 10 iPhones from his vehicle while it was parked at 2302 W. Broadway on Nov. 19. The total value of the phones was estimated at $5,500. There are no suspects in the case.

Angie Lynn Wirtz, 37, Sedalia, was arrested on a Pettis County warrant on Saturday by Sedalia Police. She was charged with first degree Burglary and 2nd degree Property Damage. Wirtz was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $5,000 bond, cash or surety.

Ag-Power, Inc., 2205 S. Limit, reported on Monday that a John Deere ATV was stolen from the lot sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. The report said that two poles that blocked off the lot were damaged. A tractor battery was also stolen at the same time.

Chrystal M. Haase, 43, Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop for defective license plate lights and wires blocking the view of the plates. She was a passenger in the vehicle and was wanted on a Pettis County warrant for non-support. Haase was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $3,500 bond. Her court date is TBA.

Brianna N. Johnson, 32, Sedalia, was arrested on a Boone County warrant in the 100 block of E. 16th Sunday night. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $1,000 bond. She has a court date of Jan. 3.

On Sunday, Amber Vinyard reported the theft of a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta from the Motel 6 parking lot, 3402 W. Broadway, sometime between 12 and 8:35 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. The Jetta was black with yellow stripes that ran from the hood to the trunk.

Sean S. Burke, 45, homeless, was arrested Monday after he was observed by an officer messing around with storage units at 315 E. 7th Street. According to the report, Burke was highly agitated and made comments that indicated he was a danger to himself. He was placed into custody, but resisted being placed into the patrol car. He was then placed in a restraint system and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he allegedly bit an officer as the restraint system was being removed. He was held for 24 hours, pending the filing of state charges for 3rd degree Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
