Christmas night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation on South Moniteau Avenue near West 6th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Adrian Maya Trejo, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol). Trejo was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Trejo was booked in at the Pettis County Jail, and a request for the charge of DWI has been sent to the prosecutor.


 

Sedalia Police took a theft report Tuesday morning at the Police Department. A husband and wife came to report they had been scammed out of money in the 1700 block of South Montgomery Avenue.


 

Officers observed a dark colored Honda Civic with California registration commit traffic violations Tuesday night. The vehicle was stopped in the area of West 32nd Street and Clinton Road. Dispatch advised the vehicle was reported as stolen out of Pettis County. Two subjects were detained. One of the subjects was found to be in possession of cocaine. After further investigation, both subjects were placed under arrest. Renata Gymr, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested for Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree. Rylee E. Miles, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Both were transported to the Pettis County Jail. Gymr was placed on a 24-hour hold, while Miles was booked and released.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers responded to the Police Department in reference to a theft report. The victim stated that a checking account under his control was compromised in the 2800 block of South Grand Avenue. Several purchases were made through Apple iTunes without his consent. The account has since been frozen. A report was made, but there is no suspect information at this time.


 

On the night of December 21st, Officers conducted a traffic stop near South Lafayette Avenue and East 15th Street on a truck for an equipment violation. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Martin A. Garcia Munoz, 30, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Munoz was booked in at the Pettis County Jail, and a request for the charge of DWI has been sent to the prosecutor.
Monday night, Officers responded to the 1600 block of Liberty Park Boulevard in reference to a deceased male. Officers arrived on scene, and located the body. The Pettis County Coroner responded, and the body was transported to a funeral home by the next of kin.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation Tuesday morning. The stop took place in the 2800 block of South Limit Avenue. During the stop, it was discovered the passenger had three active warrants for his arrest. Derrick Alexander Staton, 24, of Waverly, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle and two separate counts of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Staton was transported to the Pettis County Jail and given at $599.00 cash only bond.
