Sedalia Police Reports for February 9, 2024

Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of West 3rd Street in reference to a theft. Chelsea Patterson reported money was stolen through her online banking account from a known suspect.

Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of East 4th Street in reference to a hit and run crash. The suspect vehicle had left the scene, came back, and then left again.

Sedalia Police and emergency personnel responded to Hibbett Sports, 3115 West Broadway Boulevard, for a motor vehicle crash Wednesday night. The driver was intoxicated. Jammie Morgan Newland, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended. Morgan was transported to the Pettis County Jail, and then booked and released to a sober person.

Thursday night, Officers stopped a SUV in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Park Avenue. The SUV was stopped because it was speeding and driving without tail lights. The driver was intoxicated. Judy D. Smith, 62, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Smith was transported to the Pettis County Jail, and then booked and released to a sober person.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of North Lamine Avenue and East Main Street late Thursday night on a vehicle that had failed to yield to a stop sign. Officers identified the driver, and discovered she was driving while her license was suspended. Sarah Elizabeth Gerloff, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Gerloff was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released, pending a court date.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West 16th Street and South Kentucky Avenue on a passenger vehicle Thursday night because it had expired registration. Officers discovered that the passenger in the vehicle had a warrant for her arrest. Sandra L. Clark, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant from January of 2021 on original charges of Expired Plates. Clark was arrested on her warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a cash only bond of $60.00.

Thursday morning, Officers responded to the 300 block of East Boonville Road for a report of a burglary. Upon arrival, Officers discovered the property that was entered was an RV. The property was damaged due to the break in. The suspect was identified, located, and arrested. Tiffani Rey Adair, 37, Homeless, was arrested for Trespassing in the 1st Degree and Property Damage in the 1st Degree*. Adair was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, and then placed on a 24-hour hold.

Thursday afternoon, Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department from Freda Yvette Sims. Sims reported that their vehicle had been damaged when someone tried to break into it, in the 1500 block of South Vermont Avenue. Sims reported the total value of the damage was $129.99.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to a report of fraud Thursday morning. Officers spoke with Kevin Lentz Butler, who reported the fraud took place in the 700 block of East 9th Street. Information was gathered for a report.

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Moniteau Avenue in reference to a vehicle break in. Officers made contact over the phone with Alexander Sanchez-Mancilla, who provided information.

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West 7th Street for a report of suspicious activity Thursday morning. The reporting party stated property was left again the back door of their residence by an unknown individual. Officers arrived on scene, checked with neighbors about the property, and determined the property to be abandoned. The property was taken to the Police Department to be held, should an owner return to claim it.

Thursday afternoon, Officers took a report from Elizabeth Jolley regarding a runaway juvenile from the 300 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The report was completed, and the juvenile was entered into MULES as a missing person.

Thursday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a fraud report. Officers made contact with Andria Rohr, who stated that her purse and wallet were stolen recently, along with a debit card. Rohr noticed fraudulent activity on the card. Officers collected the information and submitted a report.

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to Housel Park to check on a subject sleeping under a park bench. Officers arrived and spoke to the subject. Through investigation, it was found the subject had a book and release warrant from Pettis County for Failure to Appear for Shoplifting. Randy L. Veeder, 47, Homeless, was arrested on his warrant. Veeder was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.

*The report notes the damages totaled more than $2,000. Property Damage in the 1st Degree involves the accused knowingly causing damages to property of another to an extent exceeding seven hundred fifty dollars.
