Police reports for July 6, 2016

Sedalia Police arrested Nakesha Latrice Windfield, 25, Sedalia, in the 300 block of W. 6th on Tuesday, for assault after she allegedly arrived at the residence, and began hitting the victim in the face and pulling hair, then left. She was issued a Municipal summons with a court date of Aug. 17. The victim refused medical treatment.

Trey Jahmeil Hayes, 28, Sedalia, was arrested at 6th and Lafayette Tuesday night after a traffic stop. He was found to be Driving While Suspended or Revoked. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending state charges.

Dawn Marie Elkins, 41, Warrensburg, was arrested for Driving While Suspended or Revoked after a traffic stop at Main and Metallic on Tuesday morning. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released. A child and cat that was in the car were transported to the Sedalia PD until family members arrived to pick them up. Elkins has a court date of July 27.

Warren H. Jackson, 61, Sedalia, was arrested for trespassing after management at Dollar General, 713 E. Broadway, called Police to complain that he was in the store. He left prior to officers' arrival, but was later located at home and arrested on a 24-hour hold. He has a court date of July 27.

James L. Bennett, 37, Sedalia, was issued a Municipal summons for Animals Running at Large after a complainant reported on July 4 that her neighbor's dog killed one of her kittens in the 1200 block of E. 11th.

Amber J. Crain, 22, Sedalia, was issued a Municipal summons for Animals Running at Large after a complainant said Cain's dog attacked her cat in the 100 block of E. Boonville.

A woman reported the theft of her purse from her apartment while she was doing laundry on Tuesday in the 600 block of S. Washington. The purse contained $600 in cash, medications and ID cards. There are no suspects.

Woods Express, 703 E. Broadway, reported the theft of $12 in gas on July at 10:23 p.m.

Casey's, 3050 S. Limit, reported the theft of $32.17 in gas by someone driving a silver car with Iowa plates on July 4 at 11:35 a.m.

Wal-Mart, 3201 W. Broadway, reported the theft of a GPS unit valued at $179 from the store on July 4. There are no identified suspects.

A dryer was stolen from a vehicle that was parked at the victim's workplace on June 30. The victim said that someone in a red truck took the dryer, which she was getting ready to sell, valued at $50.

A purse was reported missing from the Pepsi Grandstand at the Missouri State Fairgrounds after an event held there July 4. The purse contained $20, credit and debit cards, keys and a cell phone.

Police took a report of a slashed tire that occurred overnight Tuesday in the 1900 block of South Park.

Police took a report of a broken window on a residence in the 700 block of S. Engineer, in addition to property stolen from the backyard. The items were valued at $240. There are no suspects.

A Sedalia man reported the fraudulent use of his credit card on Tuesday. Two purchases were made on his card, totaling $163.34.
