Saturday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because it had no headlights on, and was using lanes improperly. The stop was conducted in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Barrett Avenue. After making contact with the driver, Officers believed the driver to be impaired. After investigation, the driver was placed under arrest. Dakota Bryant Lairmore, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 2nd Degree*. Larimore was transported to the Pettis County Jail, to be booked and released to a sober driver.


 

 

In the very early morning hours Saturday, Officers performed a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet passenger car, because the vehicle had a defective headlight. The traffic stop took place in the area of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue. Investigation during the stop revealed the driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia related to Methamphetamine. No charges are being requested. The paraphernalia was seized for destruction.


 

Sunday morning, Officers were notified in person about an item of abandoned property. The Officers were notified while they were at the intersection of South Emmett Avenue and East 5th Street. A bicycle had been left abandoned on the property. The bicycle was removed from the property at the request of the homeowner. The bicycle was taken to the Police Department to be held as found property, should the owner come to claim it.


 

 

On the evening of February 22nd, Officers conducted a traffic stop on the intersection of West Main Street and South Gentry Avenue on a vehicle that had a defective plate light. Upon further investigation, it was determined the individual driving the vehicle was intoxicated. Angel Escobar, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Escobar was transported to the BRHC for a blood draw, and was then taken to the Pettis County Jail. Escobar was booked and released to a sober driver, awaiting a court date.

Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of North Engineer Avenue for a report of found property. A bicycle had been found abandoned in the yard of a residence. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the reporting parties, and the bicycle was taken to the Police Department. The bicycle will be held as found property for the owner to claim.


 

Sedalia Police took a theft report that occurred at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store, 3811 West Broadway Boulevard. Arthur Linsday reported a license plate had been stolen off a vehicle in the parking lot on Sunday morning. NO suspects have bene identified at this time.


 

 

Officers took a report of a violation of a full order of protection Saturday evening. Officers were dispatched to Housel Park, in the 200 block of Howard Street, to speak with Silvia Vazquez Romero. Officers were able to speak with the reporting party, but not the suspect. Charges are being submitted on the suspect.


 

Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Center Avenue for a report of found property. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from the reporting parties, and collected the found property. A report was completed, and the property will be held at the Police Department for the owner to claim.


 

 

In the early morning hours of February 23rd, Officers talked with an individual present at a subject check at the End Zone Sports Bar, 3129 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers discovered the individual was driving while intoxicated after admissions were made and testing was conducted. Officers located drug paraphernalia with Methamphetamine residue inside. Aulllnie Ed Colvin, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Colvin was placed under arrest and then transported to the BRHC for a blood draw. Colvin was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Motel 6, 3402 West Broadway Boulevard, Friday afternoon for a theft report. The victim was contacted by phone at their request, and information was gathered. A report was completed.


 

 

Friday evening, Officers were dispatched for a report of property damage that occurred earlier in the day at the 10th and Thompson Car Wash, 3110 West 10th Street. The reporting party was contacted by phone, by their request. Information was gathered, and a report was completed.


 

Saturday morning, Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to found property. A subject found a license plate laying near the road in the 1200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The owner of the license plate was contacted, and advised of the situation. The license plate was entered as found property until they arrive to collect it.


 

 

Officers responded to the Centennial Park, 1400 East 16th Street, on Friday afternoon. Officers were there to check on the well-being of a subject in the area. Officers were able to locate the subject in the 2300 block of South Engineer Avenue. After speaking with the subject, it was discovered he had an active arrant for his arrest out of Sedalia for failing to appear in court. The warrant was issued in February 2024 after the citation was filed in November of 2023. In that incident, the suspect was trespassed from the Woods Grocery Store, 701 East Broadway Boulevard. Randy Loren Veeder, 47, Homeless, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Veeder was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where they determined they were not able to book him based on his medical condition. The report notes Veeder is physically disabled. The subject refused any further medical treatment, and was released. The report notes the warrant remains active. Veeder’s bond was set at $60.00 cash only.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers took a report of burglary from Juanita Berry. Berry stated the burglary took place in the 600 block of East 19th Street. Information was gathered for a report.


 

 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Massachusetts Street to investigate a theft report. Kevin Kulp stated the theft happened earlier in the day. Kulp was also able to obtain camera footage of the theft. A suspect has been identified, and charges are being submitted.


 

Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Vermont Avenue on a vehicle with defective equipment. Upon further investigation, it was determined the suspect as driving while intoxicated. Izabella Marie Renee Oswald, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol and Drugs). Oswald was transported to the BRHC for a blood draw, and then to the Pettis County Jail. Oswald was booked and released to a sober driver, awaiting a court date.


 

* 568.050. Endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree, penalties. — 1. A person commits the offense of endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree if he or she:
(1) With criminal negligence acts in a manner that creates a substantial risk to the life, body or health of a child less than seventeen years of age; or
(2) Knowingly encourages, aids or causes a child less than seventeen years of age to engage in any conduct which causes or tends to cause the child to come within the provisions of paragraph (d) of subdivision (2) of subsection 1 or subdivision (3) of subsection 1 of section 211.031; or
(3) Being a parent, guardian or other person legally charged with the care or custody of a child less than seventeen years of age, recklessly fails or refuses to exercise reasonable diligence in the care or control of such child.
