Wednesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because it had improper registration. The stop occurred near South Ohio Avenue and East 5th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. There, the suspect refused to provide a blood sample and a search warrant was obtained. The suspect was then transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, where a blood draw was conducted. Leonardo Isai Catalan Rodriguez, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Catalan Rodriguez was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.

Wednesday afternoon, emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of South Ohio Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a two-vehicle collision with multiple injuries. Investigation revealed a westbound 2015 Hyundai was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection when it pulled into the path of an eastbound 2003 Toyota, colliding with it. The Hyundai was driven by Nikki Bale of Sedalia. She and two juvenile passengers reported minor injury. They all declined treatment at the scene. The Toyota was driven by Virginia Alejandra of Sedalia. She and a juvenile front seat passenger reported minor injury, and both declined treatment on scene. The adult rear passenger in the Toyota was not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. The unnamed woman suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Missouri University Hospital.
