Friends and supporters of Roadrunner Athletics participated in the 12th Annual SFCC Golf Tournament benefiting athletic scholarships.

The event was held on Monday, July 24 at the Sedalia Country Club and raised approximately $30,000.

“We had 82 teams this year, with two full flights,” said SFCC Softball Head Coach: Michele Rupard. “Unfortunately, the rain kept us from having two complete sessions. We are grateful for everyone’s patience and grace during the weather. We had a lot of new sponsors this year, which is great! It means that our golf tournament is expanding within the community, and the community support of State Fair Athletics is expanding as well.”

The morning tee time was canceled due to inclement weather conditions. The Championship Flight was won by the team of Brandon Hartman, Sean Paul, and Brody Kempton. A pair of teams finished in a second-place tie. The team of Brice Pannier, Seth Fraley, and Nick Hagedorn tied with the team of Adam Braverman, Dennis Paul, and Ben Jackson. Three teams tied for fourth place: Abe Azan, Marcia Azan, and Lindal Grechus; Mac McCartney, Dan Thornton, and Lynn Alexander; Cliff Callis, Tyler Callis, and Justin Hauser.

The A-Flight finished in a tie for first place between the team of George Brown, Bub Caldwell, and Andy Cofen and the team of Joe Parisi, Terry Russell, and Paul Eppen. Four teams tied for third place in the flight: Gage Saulbeamer, BJ Curry, and Gage Boise; Joe Gilgour, Kevin Thurman, and Jim Gerwitz; Paul Ray Malter, Tony Willis, and Lynn Sullivan; Andrew Treuner, Kyle Herrick, and Chris Spangler.

The B-Flight finished in a four-way tie for first place between the teams of Brad Pistel, George McComas, and Brandon Adcock; Michele Rupard, Hillary Protzman, and Tracy Anderson: Chuck Black and Patrick Rowland; Jordan Dey, Spencer White, and Cody Meyer.

The contest on the second hole was won by Cam Jones. The contest on the seventh hole was won by Kyle Herrick. Herrick also won the contest on the 10th hole with an ace. Brice Pannier won the contest on the 15th hole. Brett Shoop won the contest on the 17th hole.
