SH Lady Junior High Gremlins Take 2nd at Invitational

The SH Lady Gremlins placed 2nd in the SH Gremlin invitational this past week.

The SH Jr. High Lady Gremlins took on the Tipton Cardinals in the SH Jr High Invitational on Friday Night and came up a bit short 36-40. The girls never gave up. Down 14 at one point, competing to the very end.

Ava Judd led the Lady Gremlins with a season-high 11 points. Maggie Van Leer had 10, followed by Aspen Carl with 9. Carl had 5 steals. Allie Offineer, as always, was instrumental with her defense. Maggie Van Leer had a season-high 12 rebounds, followed by Ava Judd and Addison Figge with 6 each.

A short night gave way to an early morning matchup with St. Peters in Marshall. In a back-and-forth matchup the Jr High Lady Gremlins came out on top 30-25 in a exciting game. A three-point advantage with the game on the line, Aspen Carl hit two free throws to ice the game away.

A very balanced attack led by Addie Figge with 8, and Maggie Van Leer with 7, and Aspen Carl with 6. Sophie Hesse and Tayen Whited contributed stability when we needed it most. Avery Dillon gave the team a great floor game and valuable minutes. Several Lady Gremlins contributed.

Aspen Carl had 5 steals followed by Maggie Van Leer’s 4 and Ava Judd’s 4. The Jr. High Lady Gremlins are 4-4 on the year.
