Shirley Viola Marriott Schroeder, 71, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Four Seasons Living Center.

She was born November 18, 1944, in Sedalia, daughter of William Lee Marriott and Florence Jane Baldwin Marriott Barnett.

Shirley attended Washington Grade School and Smith-Cotton High School.

In 1963, she married Don Schroeder, of Hughesville, and lived in the Longwood area until 1972, when she moved to Sedalia where she lived until becoming ill.

Besides being a grand and caring mother she had varied interests such as being a hostess and motivational speaker for Weight Watchers, which she greatly excelled in. She was also a home craft enthusiast and collector of house décor and occasionally accompanied her husband in out-of-state crop harvesting.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley is survived by two sons, Jeff and Landon Schroeder; one daughter, Melissa Schroeder, all of Sedalia; and her loyal dog, Sasha.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rob Hughes officiating.

Casket bearers will be Melvin Marriott, Lowell Pilliard, Stan Coterel, Scott Coterel, Kerry Schroeder and Steve Schroeder
Honorary bearers will be Clay Pilliard, Sean and Kara Pilliard, James and Stephanie Sneed, and Sam and Jan Sloan.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund.

The family would like to especially thank the staff and care givers of Four Seasons Living Center.
