A Slater man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday afternoon in Moniteau County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by 63-year-old Edwin E. Petty of Slater, was on US 50, 549 feet north of Koerkenmeier Road (Tipton) around 5 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the highway, struck an embankment, then crossed over Koerkenmeier Road and struck a stop sign, coming to rest facing north, off the south side of the roadway, according to the report.

Petty suffered serious injuries and was transported by Mid-Mo Ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center.

The Ford Fusion had extensive damage and was towed by Garber Diesel.
