Eduardo Alonso's four goals led the way as Smith-Cotton boys soccer beat St. Michael's of Kansas City on Tuesday, 8-0.

S-C held a 5-0 lead at the half. Riley Moore scored 20 seconds into the game with an assist from Sergey Zayats. Zach Morrison scored on a penalty kick in the 4th min. Eduardo Alonso scored in the 6th minute with an assist from Alex Esquivel.

Landon Naylor scored in the 28th minute assisted by Moore. Alonso scored in the 30th minute unassisted. Esquivel scored in the 42nd and Alonso scored in the 44th and the 50th minute, all three unassisted.

Colby Edgar, Brody Barklage and Rafael Barragan spent time in the net for the shutout.
S-C is now 5-0 (2-0 in the WCC).


 

The Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers volleyball team lost on the road at Nevada on Tuesday night, 22-25, 25-12, 20-25.

Sophomore Jorey Luebbert had 10 kills, three aces and a pair of blocks for S-C. Haley Wiskur added 13 digs and five kills; Taylor Burlingame had 16 digs and three aces and Megan Toops added 11 assists.


 

The Lady Tigers No. 1 doubles team remained unbeaten on the season but Smith-Cotton lost its matchup Tuesday at Jefferson City, 8-1.

S-C's Elizabeth Matz and Valentyna Usyk had to go to a tie-breaker to top Jeff City's Susan Meyer and Briley Patrick, 9-8. The win puts Matz-Usyk at 4-0. The Jays dominated in the rest of the matchups.

The Lady Tigers are 2-2, 1-0 in the West Central Conference.
