The St. Louis Police Department says it has turned over its investigation of a fatal 2015 shooting of an 18-year-old by police to prosecutors for review.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said Monday that information about the department's findings on the fatal shooting of Mansur Ball-Bey on Aug. 19, 2015, will be released after the Circuit Attorney's Office reviews the findings and decides whether any charges are warranted.

The Circuit Attorney's Office launched its own review of the shooting in August.

Ball-Bey was shot as police raided a north St. Louis home. Police say Ball-Bey pointed a stolen gun at officers. The St. Louis medical examiner says Ball-Bey suffered a severed spinal cord in the shooting.

Jermaine Wooten, Ball-Bey's family's attorney, has questioned the police account of the shooting.
