The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners emerged with a 1-5 record when they participated in the Heartland Jamboree in Overland Park, Kansas on October 7.  Each scrimmage was two 20-minute running clock halves.

“It was a very long day,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “Our players got to see how hard we have to play to get better.  When we play so many different types of teams, each team brings something different to the table that will help us to improve.”

SFCC faced stiff competition throughout the Jamboree, taking on Northeast Oklahoma A&M College, Brown Mackie College, Black Hawk College, Neosho Community College, Johnson County Community College, and North Central.  The Lady Roadrunners defeated Black Hawk College in their only win of the day.

“There are a lot of things we have to do to get better,” said Bucher.  “We have to improve our defensive positioning and intensity on defense.  We can’t give up uncontested shots. Rebounding is going to be big for us.”

The Lady Roadrunners will participate in the Southwestern Illinois College Jamboree on October 21 in Belleville, Illinois.
