This past week, I sort of holed myself up at home and didn't do much for my time off. I think sometimes you've got to just sleep in and watch some TV on the couch...or at least I do. So when I came back here to the studios today, I realized there's a lot of great chances for us to keep spreading that Holiday spirit.
This past Friday (Oct. 11), I was lucky enough to get out to the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center and rock out a bit with the great folks out there for their blood drive. These people were the epitome of working through hardship, I'll tell you that for free!
Last week, we talked about how our radio stations would be working with the American Red Cross and the State Fair Community College on a big blood drive. Well, now it's coming up this Friday,Oct. 11, and we're all excited over here.
Our radio stations like to help out locally with as many local causes as we can. It can be donating to a cause, getting the word out, or helping with the event, we'll do what needs to get done. We're pairing up with the American Red Cross next week for a huge blood drive.
The American Red Cross came back to Sedalia, this time with a little help from the St. Louis Cardinals. The blood drive was held at the Katy Depot. The turnout was great and those who donated got a specially designed shirt from the St. Louis Cardinals.
