Doug Sleeps Away His Day Off, Doctor’s Orders
Today was a rare day off for me. I didn't go anyplace grand like last year's vacation to the Grand Hotel in Michigan, nor did I get to do any necessary chores around the house, but I slept. No, I did not sleep in late. This was doctor prescribed.
On The Road With Doug: Visit the Johnson County Fire Auxiliary Spaghetti Dinner and Auction
Before I tell you about the Johnson County Fire Auxiliary Spaghetti dinner and auction, let me tell you that I grew up in the rural areas of Knob Noster in Country Acres, and at one point, we had lightening hit our house and it caused a fire. The Knob Noster Volunteer Department came out and made sure all was okay. Ever since that moment, I realized the importance of having a good fire department around. Whether it be city owned or volunteer, I appreciate our firefighters.
“Fair Voice” Snags Me Again [PHOTOS]
Just before the Missouri State Fair, Bruce had what he described as "Fair Voice" already, as he has started going hoarse. Each year it seems we at at the radio station fight it. This year I have managed to avoid it, but today it hit with a vengeance just before introducing Bush Hawg on the Bud Tent. I highly recommend you go check them out on Saturday at 2 and 6 p.m. I thought if I managed to go home and rest up Friday, all would be okay.

Doug Finds His Family’s Favorite Snack At the Fair
The first day of the Missouri State Fair is always an interesting one. You usually see huge crowds at the Missouri State Fair for things like the Grand Opening or Two Buck Bonanaza Day, where not only do you get into the Missouri State Fair for $2, you can get deals through the Missouri State Fair. This first day was no exception.
On the Road with Doug: Peach Tree Farm in Boonville [PHOTOS]
My father had a saying growing up; "You could go all over the world and see some amazing things, but take the time to see what's in your backyard too." I decided to pack up the kids and head to The Peach Tree Farm in Boonville on our way to Columbia.
