Fire Destroys Mark Twain Apartment Building [AUDIO]
July 19, 2012 UPDATE: KSIS's Jack Miller spoke with Sedalia Police Battalion Chief Paul Withers this morning (July 19), who updated us on the fire that destroyed the Mark Twain Apartment Building last night. Withers says that the building has not fallen down, and the blaze has been tamed despite several "hot spots" at the building. Police have blocked off the building and the public is being asked to avoid the area.

A fire that began around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19 has destroyed the Mark Twain Apartments Building at 800 West Second Street in Sedalia. According to officials on the scene, the fire may have started as a result of construction crews working on a tenant's apartment on the upper level of the northeast corner of the building.
