February 19, 2013 Could the last gasp of winter be coming this week? The National Weather Service is predicting snow to impact this area on Wednesday night (Feb. 20) and Thursday (Feb. 21). A Winter Storm Watch has been issued, and they are projecting that a bulk of the snow should be north of Highway 36, while I-70 and Highway 50 areas could get a lot of ice, sleet and snow.
This winter, when the snow is piled high outside your doorway, or in the mountains nearby, you could head out into the cold and build a snowman or have an epic snowball fight. Those are some time-honored winter traditions, yet when the temperature drops, there’s so much more you can do.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) still reports that roads are considered slick in spots after the area received one to three inches of snow in some portions of our listening area
