The 2023 Missouri State Fair is here starting today and runs through August 20.  Between the butter cow, the concerts, exhibits, bull riding, fair food, shows, and monster trucks, there's something for everybody. For some, the best part of the Missouri State Fair is the midway put on by Wade Shows.

Last year my favorite rides at the carnival were the Mighty Mouse Coaster and the Himalaya. This year, The Super Polar Himalaya is scheduled to be part of the rides at the carnival, as will the Mini-Himalaya for the kids. Instead of the Mighty Mouse Coaster, Wade Shows is bringing the Super Cyclone Coaster, if it's as good as the Mighty Mouse Coaster it should be a really fun ride.

In addition to the two rides I mentioned above, classic amusement rides scheduled to appear at the Missouri State Fair include the Cliff Hanger, Cyclone, bumper cars, Merry-Go-Round, Sizzler, Spider, Super Slide, Titlt-A-Whirl, YoYo, Zipper and Zero Gravity. I knew some of these rides as a kid under the names Paratrooper (Cliff Hanger), The Round-Up (Cyclone, Zero Gravity), Scrambler (Sizzler), and The Octopus (Spider).

Additionally, there will be a variety of kiddie rides including a carousel and Hampton Umbrella Rides as part of the carnival along with the family-friendly Giant Wheel. Keep reading to check out all 34 rides scheduled to be at the Missouri State Fair.

The carnival at the Missouri State Fair, according to the Wade Shows website, will open by noon on weekdays, and 11:00 AM CDT on weekends. The carnival will operate until 11:00 PM CDT on weekdays, and 11:30 PM CDT on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This is, of course, weather permitting.

Hours for the carnival are also at the discretion of Wade Shows. (The night we went to the Fair to ride some of the rides, they closed a little bit earlier while we were waiting for a ride on the Mighty Mouse Coaster.)

Tickets are available at the carnival in family packs of 5, 30, and 55, and unlimited ride wristbands will also be available, their price varies depending on the day you visit the fair, you can check out pricing here. Carnival deals and specials are available throughout the fair, check out the deals here. Keep reading to see all 34 rides coming to the Fair.

The Center for Human Services and Wade Shows is offering Sensory-Friendly time on the midway on Thursday, August 17, from noon to 2:00 PM CDT.
