WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Both of UCM's top-10 track teams will be in action this week in Warrensburg, Mo. for the Mule Relays. The meet will mark the second consecutive week the Mules and Jennies will be competing in the Multipurpose Building. The meet will take place over the course of two days, Friday, Jan. 30 and Saturday, Jan. 31.

UCM is coming off of an historic week as the Jennies are ranked No. 1 by USTFCCCA for the first time in their history. The Mules are also ranked in the top-10, checking in at No. 7.

Following the UCM Invitational, junior thrower Heavin Warner was named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week and also the MIAA Athlete of the Week. Warner broke the school and Multipurpose Building record in the weight throw with an NCAA automatic qualifying throw of 20.83m (68' 4.25"), the second-best in the NCAA in 2015. She later provisionally qualified in the shot put as well, winning the event with a toss of 14.18m (46' 6.26")

The Mules earned their share of weekly accolades as well. Juniors Kellin Loch and Caniggia Raynor were named MIAA Track and MIAA Field Athletes of the Week respectively. Loch won the 600 yard run with a converted time of 1:10.69, second fastest in school history. He also anchored the winning 4x440 yard relay team, which crossed the line in 3:19.42. Raynor earned himself an NCAA provisional qualifying mark as well. He won the weight throw with a mark of 20.41m (66' 11.5m), second-best in school history and currently fourth in the NCAA.

What makes the Mule Relays different from last week's UCM Invitational is the inclusion of the multi-events. The women's pentathlon will be contested Friday while the men's heptathlon will take place over both days. The multi-events will start the action both days, with the first events taking place at 10 a.m. Friday.
