William “Bud” Caldwell, 62, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015, at his home.

He was born February 27, 1953, in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was the son of Jim and Helen Moore Caldwell Steele.

On October 14, 1972, in Florence, he married Carol Simons, who survives of the home.

Bud worked at Pro Energy as a long-haul truck driver. He enjoyed driving his rig cross country and experiencing new people and places. He was also an avid reader and loved many different genres of fiction.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Anthony Caldwell, James “Jay” Caldwell (Aimee), Andrea Boone (Joe), Dustin Caldwell, and Kristy Allcorn, all of Sedalia; 11 grandchildren, Whitney, Dexter, Desmond, Lauryn, Gavin, Dakota, Hailey, Gabe, Zach, Skylon and Meadow; and a sister, Jackie Thomas (Mike), of Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Angela and Debbie; and two brothers, Bobby and Ricky.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Honorary bearers will be his co-workers at Pro Energy.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Canon Cancer Center.
