Sedalia Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially celebrate the newly installed playground at Katy Park, located at 2100 Clinton Road.

This celebration comes as Katy Park commemorates its 50th anniversary in 2024—having first opened to the public in the mid-1970s.

While the new playground had a soft opening just in time for Easter weekend, final touches have now been completed, and the community is invited to help Parks & Rec mark this exciting milestone in style.

Originally purchased in 1974 and finalized with grant support in 1976, Katy Park has been a cornerstone of Sedalia’s park system for five decades. The new playground, approved by the Sedalia Park Board, brings fresh, inclusive and modern play options to one of the city’s most popular recreational spaces.
