Sedalia man jailed on domestic assault charges Saturday

Saturday evening Sedalia Police investigated a disturbance. Following an investigation Miguel Rubio-Herrera of Sedalia was arrested, and transported to the Pettis County jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of 3rd degree domestic assault. According to the police report the suspect was also breaking windows of the residence of the victim.

Cat destroyed after being mauled by a dog running at large Saturday

Just after 3pm Saturday afternoon Sedalia Police were sent to the area of 14th and Sneed on a report of a dog attacking a cat. Upon arrival the officer had to use spray to gain access to the cat. The police report states the cat was taken to the animal shelter where it had to be put down due to its injuries. The owner of the dog identified as James Yager was issued a summons for his dog running at large.

Male and female sought for harassing a female victim on West 11th

At 8:49 Saturday night a victim in the 200 block of West 11th reported a male and female came to her door yelling at her. She closed the door, but the male suspect kicked it open, and the female suspect entered and began pushing her. The victim said she was able to push the woman out the door, and call the police. The incident is under investigation.

Male victim reports a female suspect attempted to run over him with her car

Around 9:36 Saturday night Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the area of 12th and Kentucky. Upon arrival the male victim told the officers a female suspect had attempted to run over him with her car. The man said he was able to avoid the car, but it damaged his vehicle. The female suspect had fled the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

19-year-old suspect being sought in a property damage complaint

Sedalia police took a property damage complaint at 7:18 Sunday night, that occurred in the 700 block of West Cooper. According to the victim a 19-year-old suspect damaged his fence while attempting to steal a dog. The suspect was contacted and he denied trying to steal a dog, but said he picked a puppy up outside the fence, and put it back. The police report states a charge of trespassing is being sought in the case.

Zippered bag containing a syringe and liquid found

Saturday evening a man called the police to report he had found a zippered bag beside a tree in the 600 block of East 11th. The man said the bag contained a syringe and a dark liquid, so he put it back, and called the police. The bag and contents are in police property at news time.

Property damage complaints filed over the weekend

A homeowner in the 400 block of West 4th reported someone damaged the rear door window of his house. Damage estimate is $200.

Saturday afternoon a vehicle in the 500 block of West 5th reportedly had a window shot out by a BB Gun.

Sometime last week according to a damage complaint someone damaged a rental house in the 300 block of East 13th. The owner set the damage at $225.

Air Systems LLC reported one of their company trucks was egged in the 3200 block of Cunningham Drive.
