Forest Service officials say wildfires in Taney County last week are being investigated as possible arson.

The fires, blown by winds gusting to 25 mph, damaged nearly 2,000 acres and destroyed one man's home.

The Springfield News-Leader reports investigators found multiple fire ignition sites.

Forest Service spokesman Cody Norris said authorities haven't found any incendiary devices but law enforcement is investigating leads that suggest the fires were intentionally set.
