On Saturday, Sedalia fire crews were dispatched to a residential house fire at 1820 South Warren Avenue called in at 12:57 p.m.

Upon arrival at 12:59 p.m., fire crews found heavy fire and smoke coming from the residence. Fire extended from the front of the residence to the second floor. Heavy fire was also found throughout the interior of the residence.

Fire crews immediately performed a primary search of the residence to locate anyone who may still be in the home. No persons were found to be inside the home.

Fire crews then began an aggressive interior fire attack on the fire.

The fire was brought under control and fully extinguished at 13:57 p.m.

There were no injuries to civilians or fire crews.

One animal was unfortunately lost in the fire

In total, 13 fire personnel were on scene.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal was called in to assist in the investigation.

The Fire Marshal determined that this was an incendiary fire with arson as the cause of the fire.

The Fire Marshal and Sedalia Police have an ongoing investigation of the fire.

There was also fire damage reported to a neighboring home as a result of this fire.

Fire crews cleared the scene at 5:10 p.m., according to Fire Chief Matt Iwrin.
