The Sedalia Fire Department recently posted a series of photos showing what fire crews do during a large overnight structure fire, such as the one the SFD battled early Sunday morning, Dec. 8 at Main and Vermont.

The call came in around 2:30 a.m., and crews were on the scene for several hours, assisted by Pettis County Fire personnel after a mutual aid request.

The fire was considered under control by 5:30 a.m., and Pettis County Fire was released. Sedalia Fire remained on scene for most of Sunday, keeping an eye on hot spots.

Three occupants of the building were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center. No firefighters or first responders were injured, it was noted.

A total of 22 firefighters from Sedalia fought the blaze, assisted by 14 from the Pettis Country Fire Protection District.

Additionally, the Sedalia Police Department, Pettis County Sheriff's Department, Pettis County Ambulance District, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri State Fire Marshall, and utility companies assisted at the scene of the fire.
