With the holidays quickly approaching many area children are looking forward to something other than presents from Santa – Christmas break. Their parents, however, may be wondering what to do with those extra days off from school when they have to go back to work. The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri is once again offering a simple and easy solution: drop-in days.

Held during the winter break, drop-in days offer parents a solution to finding child care during the busy holiday season. Club members can be dropped off at the Club’s downtown facility, 314 S. Washington Ave., between 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a day filled with fun and learning.

During the winter break, each drop-in day offered will have a special theme guiding all activities. This year’s themes include Candy Land, Winter Fun with Dr. Suess, Christmas, Famous Artists, Happy New Year, and Resolutions.

“We know the holidays are already stressful for families and by offering drop-in days, we hope to take some of that stress about child care away,” said Communications Coordinator Emily Jarrett. “Instead of staying at home watching TV, children can have fun with their peers in a structured and fun environment.”

Drop-in days will be offered Dec. 22, 23, 26, 29, 30 and Jan. 2. Children must be members of the Club to attend and membership applications can be found at any Club site or the Administration Office, 3100 Aaron Ave. Cost for drop-in days is $5 and children must bring a sack lunch.
