According to a press release, The University of Missouri Extension will offer the Master Gardener Core Course in Sedalia, beginning September 19th. This course is the entry point to become certified as a Missouri Master Gardener.

Care Connection for Aging Services will conduct a “Medicare 101” presentation at 4 p.m. on September 21st at the Sedalia Senior Center, located at 312 S. Washington Avenue, in Sedalia.

According to a news release from the City of Sedalia, the fourth annual Citywide Citizens Survey is now complete. The purpose of the yearly survey is to provide a base measurement for public opinion of city services. Further, it helps to point out what areas of city government are in need of improvement.

The Johnson County Survival Adult Abuse Center’s Seventh annual “Girls’ Night Out” fundraiser will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday Feb. 25, in the Elliot Union Ballroom at the University of Central Missouri. Vendor booth shopping will begin outside the ballroom at 5 p.m. Survival has a goal $15,000 for this year’s “Girls’ Night Out” to fight domestic abuse.

You would think that with the holidays upon us, phone scammers would stop their Scrooge-like activites.  No such luck.

Pettis County Health Center has been advised by community members that scam phone calls regarding credit cards have been received using the Pettis County Health Center as the number where the call is originating.
