If my Mom was celebrating Mother's Day with us in Warrensburg, I know the perfect gift she'd enjoy. The Mother's Day Picnic Brunch at Powell Gardens.

My Mother loves being out in nature. Back home in Chicago one of her favorite places is the Chicago Botanical Gardens. In fact, she took me there once when I was in Chicago visiting her. So a trip to Powell Gardens is a must when she comes up to Warrensburg for a visit.

This weekend, May 7 and May 8, Powell Gardens has thought of Mom and is holding a Mother's Day Picnic Brunch during their Painted Garden experience.

The Mother's Day Picnic Brunch for two includes:

  • Charcuterie for Two from Blush-Farms Cork+Board featuring savory meats, cheeses, and more
  • Mini Spinach Feta Pie from Bloom Baking Company
  • Mini Goat Cheese & Tomato Croissant from Bloom Baking Company
  • Candied Pecans from Yummy Favorites
  • Dessert for Two from Bloom Baking Company
  • Gifts to spoil Mom:
    • Picnic tote
    • Mini potted live succulent
    • Locally-made candle
    • Wildflower seed packet with Mother's Day greeting

The cost for this wonderful experience is $98 and doesn't include admission to Painted Garden, however, Mothers and Powell Garden Members receive free admission on May 7 and May 8.

Of course, celebrating mom isn't just something she might do with her son or daughter. It might be mom and dad and the kids. Or mom, dad, and all the kids. So Powell Gardens has opportunities for you to add more people to your picnic brunch for $28.00 a person, or $11.50 per child.

By the way, kids aren't expected to eat the food the adults are getting. The kid's meal comes with a gourmet peanut and butter jelly sandwich, fruit, pretzel crackers with cheese bites, and a cookie.

And of course, you may want to toast mom as well. So you can order a bottle or two of Prosecco or Champagne as well for $18.00 a bottle.

The Mother's Day Picnic Brunch at Powell Gardens is taking place this Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM CDT. You can learn more about the event on the Powell Gardens website. And reservations for this event need to be in by Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
