A celebration of the life of Coen Brown will be held at Sacred Heart High School’s McGremlin Gym on Saturday June 3rd at 2:30 p.m.  Doors will open at 1 p.m., at the school, located at 416 West 3rd Street in Sedalia.

Brown, who was originally only given weeks to live when he first received his cancer diagnosis last July, survived for nearly a year before dying on Wednesday, May 24th at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Survivors are his parents, Matt and Nikki, in addition to his older brother and sister, Gabe and Ally, and younger siblings Cade, Conner, Molly and Raleigh.

Brown, affectionately known by friends, family, and teammates as “CoCo,” was a 2022 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and best known in the area for his play for the Gremlin basketball team that included honors as an All-State player as well as leading the Gremlins to a win in the sectional round of the Missouri State Basketball Tournament during the 2021-22 season.  Brown also set a new school scoring record, finishing with 2,212 points for his career.
