A Clinton man was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a one vehicle accident that occurred in Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2009 Ford, driven by 44-year-old Phillip R. Fry, was on Highway 7, east of U at 6:25 a.m., when the driver ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment, became airborne and impacted the eastbound side of Highway 7. The Ford then returned to the roadway and ran off the north side.

Fry, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was transported by Lifeflight Eagle to Research Medical Center for treatment.

The Ford had moderate damage.

Henry County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
