
Two Killed, Several Injured in I-70 Head-on Crash
Two people were killed and several others injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday night in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 20-year-old Connor J. Souther of Lexington, was on I-70 at mile marker 23.6 around 8:30 p.m., when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, crossed the median and traveled into the westbound lanes and struck a westbound 2018 Chevy Traverse, driven by 56-year-old Garret D. Brumley of Lee's Summit, head on.
Souther was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:43 p.m., by CJC Paramedic Caleb Volmer.
Brumley was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:44 p.m.
Injured in the Traverse were 58-year-old Juneitta F. Brumley of Lee's Summit, 79-year-old Glenna Brumley of Louisburg, Kentucky, and 80-year-old Gary D. Brumely of Louisbirg, Kentucky, all with serious injuries.
Also injured was 25-year-old Kayla M. McEnroe of Lee's Summit with moderate injuries and 25-year-old Justin McEnroe with minor injuries.

All the injured were taken to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Elite Tow.
Grain Valley Police assisted the six Troopers on scene.
