A 50-year old man was arrested Monday night after allegedly stabbing another man in Clinton, MO.
The Clinton Police Department says officers were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Grandriver Street around 8:30 Monday night in reference to a subject who had been stabbed during a physical altercation.
Upon arrival, officers found a 26-year old male resident of the home who had been stabbed in the abdomen. Officers reportedly applied a pressure dressing to the man’s wound before medics arrived from Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. The victim was then transported to the hospital and later flown to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Clinton Police indicate that the victim will survive.
An investigation revealed that there had been an altercation inside the residence, which included several people who also reside there. One of the residents, 50-year old Terry Lee Warren, reportedly arrived home after a trip to a local convenience store where he was supposedly in a fight with someone in the parking lot.
According to Clinton Police, Warren told his story to other residents of the home and he became enraged and punched a couple of holes in the drywall of the living room. When a woman from the home took issue with him damaging the wall, Warren reportedly slapped her.
The stabbing victim then intervened between the two and was stabbed in the abdomen. Police say that Warren was then subdued by two other residents and disarmed.
Warren then fled the area on foot and a 911 call was made to aid the victim.
Clinton Police Detectives processed the crime scene and recovered the knife that the victim was stabbed with. Warren was located hiding behind a parked vehicle in the area of 8th and Ohio Street a short time later and arrested for 1st Degree Assault. His bond was placed at $25,0000.
