Cole Camp Man Arrested after Reported Gunfire
Benton County Sheriff's deputies recently arrested a 55-year old Cole Camp man after receiving a report of gunfire.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office says that just before 9:00 on the night of February 7, deputies responded to a motel in reference to gunfire. After a short investigation, it was determined that 55-year old Steven L. Wampler, of Cole Camp, fired a .38 caliber revolver into the ceiling, while arguing with his female companion.
Wampler was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Domestic Assault, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
No one was injured during the incident.
