Community Blood Center Blood Drive Will Save Lives on December 13
The Sedalia Community Center is having a Blood Drive coming up on December 13. Most of us will need a blood transfusion at some point in our lives. That means that you, your family and your peers will need the support of volunteer blood donors.
Thirty-seven percent of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only about seven percent actually donate. Approximately 60 percent of collections come from Blood Drives chaired by volunteers at schools, churches, organizations, and businesses. More than 1,500 chairpersons helped organize these drives last year. Donating blood is one of easiest ways to support your community. Your donation will save the life of an individual right here, right now.
If you have never donated blood before, you are probably wondering what you can expect. Although the actual blood draw takes only a few minutes, the entire donation process may take an hour or more. All you have to do is sign in, they do a mini physical, and then you donate. It's pretty simple, and you need to do it!
Join the 7 percent with the Sedalia Community Blood Center on Tuesday, December 13 from 10:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. at 200 South Limit, the First Christian Church. For more information, call 827-2200 or email Marge Watson at email@example.com.
