The Donnie Hunter Memorial Sedalia Lions' Compact Figure 8 Scramble and Tough Truck Challenge will be at the State Fair Arena on Saturday. The annual event will help support the Lions Club and their charitable efforts.

"We have 30 different organizations in the Sedalia community area that we help out on an annual basis," said Terri Hunter with the Sedalia Lions Club.

Hunter says the Lions Club will also be using the event to collect donations for hurricane relief. "The hurricane has left so much devastation that we, as a club, have decided that we are going to add a special event to our Figure 8 where everyone can bring donations to help those victims out, whether they are physical donations or cash. We will make sure that they go to another Lions Club in an area that has been impacted. That way 100% of your funds will go directly to someone that is in need. The Club is going to guarantee match at least $1,000, and I believe we're going to go up to $2,000 in matching funds."

Tickets for the Compact Figure 8 Scramble and Tough Truck Challenge are $8 for adults, $5 for kids 5-12. Pit passes are $12. Doors open at 5, the event begins at 6 p.m. on September 9, 2017 at the State Fair Arena on the southwest corner of the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
