One thing you can always definitely think about to help others this fall is to donate blood. The Community Blood Center in our area has a blood drive coming up, so make sure to remember to donate.

37% of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only 7% does. Give blood and join the 7% today!  The Community Blood Center will be in Sedalia, Tuesday October 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 200 South Limit Avenue.

Blood and its components (I've been to SEVERAL blood drives over the years, in a professional and non professional capacity, so I've read this information several times) can be used in all sorts of different ways. People who have been in car accidents might need a huge transfusion of red blood cells. But platelets are used too, for cancer patients, trauma and open heart surgeries.

It doesn't take long, and they definitely are taking precautions for COVID. You can be pretty well spaced out, and masks are on everybody anyway, so it's completely safe. All you have to do is make sure you eat a little something beforehand. You gotta make sure you're okay, too, after all. And then, just take it easy for the rest of the day and you're golden. I normally don't have any problems after I donate blood. They gotta be precautious though and tell everyone just in case. Maybe just don't do a huge workout afterwards or something.

Donatingly yours,

Behka
