The Sedalia Lions Club Donnie Hunter Memorial Compact Figure 8 Scramble is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 at the State Fair Arena on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

Event coordinator Terri Hunter said gates opens at 5:30 and action starts at 6 p.m. There will be plenty of seating and spectators may bring their own lawn chairs if they so desire. There is seating for 2,500.

Hunter noted that she expects dozens of drivers to show up (between 40 and 45 total) and compete at the event. Most of the drivers hail from California and Jefferson City. Double points are up for grabs at this event in Sedalia. Entry fees are $30 per driver and rider, per class.

Payouts are $700 for first, $300 for second, $200 for this and 100 for fourth place.

A special event that will take place before the main event is a Powerwheel for kids 10 and under. All participants need to bring a bicycle helmet with them. And they will get in for free, Hunter said.

Concessions will be available at the event.

Cost is $8 for those 13 and older, $5 for kids 6-12 and pit passes are $15 each.

Lucky 7's Promotions is in charge of the event, and 2020 rules and regulations will apply. Go to Lucky7spromotion.com or call Joshua Wood at (573) 375-0148 for more information, or call Terri Hunter at (660) 596-5093 or go to the Sedalia Lions Club's facebook page.
