Dorothy “Dottie” Ream, 91, of Sedalia passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Sedalia.  She was born on December 31, 1922 in Shell Knob, MO the daughter of Artis and Fred Gilmore, who both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Hall and her husband Jack of Joplin, MO; her brother, Hershel Gilmer of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ream.

At Dottie’s request, she wished to be cremated and a private family service held at a later date.  She also requested in lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to her great-great granddaughter, who is 4 years old, also battling cancer.  Contributions may be mailed to Bayleigh Collingsworth Fund, PO Box 365, Weir, KS 66781 or the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
