Early Childhood Center’s Zumsteg Named Bell Ringer Winner For May

Pettis County Early Childhood Center nurse Sheri Zumsteg is the recipient of the Superintendent’s Bell Ringer Award for May.

The monthly award is a way for Superintendent Steve Triplett to honor Sedalia 200 staff members who put the district’s mission statement into action and those who display exemplary effort in celebrating student success. Winners are selected from nominations made by staff members and administrators.

The nominator for Zumsteg wrote: “Nurse Sheri goes above and beyond her nursing duties. She is always willing to help out with anything that is needed to make the school day successful. She may take kids to the bathroom, make sure lunches are ready, hangs out with students who need a little extra attention and compassion, orchestrates arrival and dismissal for transportation. Our school is lucky to have her!"

Triplett said, “The staff at our early childhood center builds success with students consistently because they function as a team. Nurse Sheri is a vital member of that operation, always focusing on students’ needs and being willing to take up any task that needs attention. We appreciate all she brings every day to our early childhood family."

Other nominees for May were: Melissa Lackey, Ashley Fisher, Heather Sparks and Kelley Sohn from Smith-Cotton High School; Brian Foster, Christopher Evans, Megan Sparks, Blake Underwood and Denise Sturm-Cobblah, Smith-Cotton Junior High; Brett Hieronymus, Sedalia Middle School; Stephanie Jackson, Ashley Klein and Shawna Davidson, Parkview Elementary; Hilliary Owens, Horace Mann Elementary; Karina Lopez and Hannah Satnan, Washington Elementary; Allison Stucker and Carrie Howieson, Heber Hunt Elementary; Peggy Blatterman, Skyline Elementary; and Paul Arias, a district-wide occupational therapist.
