Early Lead For Windsor Seals Fate For Sacred Heart Softball
The Sacred Heart softball varsity team fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-2 loss to Windsor on Friday.
The Lady Gremlins lost, despite out-hitting Windsor 10 to six on their home field.
Zoe Martin was in the pitcher's circle for Sacred Heart. Martin surrendered eight runs on six hits over six innings, striking out three and walking one.
The Lady Gremlins saw the ball well Friday night, racking up 10 hits in the game. Martin, Sammy Altena, and Claire Smeltzer all had multiple hits for Sacred Heart, with each collecting two hits to lead the team.
Sacred Heart (6-6) plays Smithton (4-6) today at home at 5 p.m.

Olivia Dobson and Kiley Beykirch each had one hit to lead Sacred Heart. The Lady Gremlins stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Elwell led the way with three.
