Edwards Man Injured When Truck Strikes Utility Pole

An Edwards man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday evening in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2015 Ford F-150, driven by 79-year-old Gary L. Brown of Edwards, was on Highway 7, south of Turkey Creek around 6:45 p.m., when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, and struck a utility pole.

Brown suffered serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia by Life Flight.

Brown was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The Ford had extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
