If you're holding tickets for Elton John's show at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City next Tuesday you'll probably be paying attention to the superstar's social media this weekend to see how he's doing as he recovers from Covid-19.

KCTV 5 reports that Elton John postponed shows Tuesday night and last night in Dallas after testing positive for the coronavirus. NBC Dallas - Ft. Worth reports that John's tour released the following statement on the canceled shows:

It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, Jan. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing only mild symptoms. Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon. Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly.

The television station goes on to report that shows on January 29 and January 30 in Little Rock and Oklahoma City are still on the schedule, and a statement on John's Instagram stories says he expects to make those shows.

That's good news for Kansas City ticketholders expecting to see him on Tuesday, February 1 at T-Mobile Center. Barring any complications, eager fans will get to see him about eighteen months after the show was originally scheduled.

Superstars like Elton John continuing to tour in the face of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 is a good sign for music fans, who have had to wait frustratingly long periods as bands and artists have kept postponing or delaying tours in hopes their tour won't get hit with complications from Covid-19.

There are already many concerts booked for the summer shed season at Starlight in Kansas City, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis, and other venues around those cities. Not to mention the stadium shows scheduled to pull into Arrowhead Stadium, Kauffman Stadium, and Busch Stadium this summer. You can check out the summer concert schedule so far here.
