Several months ago, I had a chance to go to my first rodeo.  I got to see professional bull riders for the first time up close and I have to say, I was impressed by what I saw.  Those bull riders risk their lives, and what they do isn't easy.  As it turns out, we have a professional bull riding team in Missouri.

I didn't know either.  And they will be in action this weekend in Kansas City at the T-Mobile Arena.  They are the Kansas City Outlaws.

This is their inaugural season and Kansas City is one of eight cities chosen to host them.  Five riders for the Outlaws will compete against five riders for another team. Each team is assigned five bulls and can decide how they’re matched up. Then it’s a matter of hanging on for eight seconds. That is much easier said than done, of course.

According to their Facebook page:

The Kansas City Outlaws are ready to get down and dirty in the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Team Series, an elite new league featuring the world’s top bull riders. The team is coached by the Iron Man himself, J.W. Hart, and owned by Phil Pulley, the founder of Bad Boy Mowers – the brand that changed the zero-turn lawnmower game. Together, these rebels are building a team that will bring a whole new Outlaw Attitude to PBR, defined by independent, uncompromising grit that’s second to none. The PBR Team Series’ inaugural 10-event regular season begins in June 2022. It all comes down to the team playoff in November where our men will represent the fans of Outlaw Country with pride.
