Job Fair Focuses on Emergency Preparedness Careers
A Resource Job Fair focusing on emergency preparedness is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 22 at Convention Hall in Liberty Park.
Equus Workforce Solutions is sponsoring the job fair, which will run from 8 a.m., to 4 p.m.
Organizers said visitors will have the opportunity to speak with police, sheriff deputies, and Air Force personnel, as well as representatives from many other agencies and resources that will be attending.
There will be kids activities, as well as an emphasis on car seat safety and CPR demonstrations.

The event is federally and state TANF funded, it was noted.
TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) is a federal block grant program providing temporary cash aid, job training, and support services (like childcare, housing help) to low-income families with children, aiming to promote work, self-sufficiency, and family stability, though states have flexibility in how they run it, often calling it "Temporary Assistance."
