The Washington Avenue Bridge (viaduct) was reopened to vehicle traffic Tuesday morning after being closed for nearly 30 months.

The reopening was announced by City Administrator Matt Wirt near the end of Monday night's City Council meeting.

Structural repairs have completed by the contractor. However, the pedestrian crosswalk/sidewalk on the bridge remains closed while additional repairs and safety improvements are completed.
