Firefighter Injured in Henry County Rollover
At around 6:10 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, the Calhoun Volunteer Fire Department responded to a natural cover fire in the area of Northeast Highway V and C Highway (Southeast of Calhoun) in rural Henry County.
While in route to the fire scene, Calhoun Tanker One was involved in a single-vehicle rollover incident.
The driver of the apparatus suffered minor injuries had to be extricated from the vehicle and he was transported to Research Medical Center by Golden Valley Memorial EMS in stable condition.
According to a MSHP report, the driver, a 43-year-old man from Lincoln, failed to maintain control of the southbound 1995 Freightliner and the truck ran off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected and the tanker ran off the left side, struck an embankment and overturned. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The fire truck was totaled and towed by Gary’s Wrecker.
Calhoun Fire posted an update on the injured firefighter around 9 p.m. Wednesday:

Equipment can be replaced, but personnel are irreplaceable. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Golden Valley Memorial Ambulance, Missouri State Troopers, Clinton Wrecker, Henry County 911 Communications, and the Henry County Sheriffs Office for all their assistance during this difficult situation.
