A former southwest Missouri soccer coach has been charged with having sexual contact with a student 11 years ago.

Forty-nine-year-old Tim Magee was charged Saturday with three counts of second-degree statutory sodomy and held at the Green County Jail.

He was also fired Saturday as head soccer coach at Willard High School after allegations from a former student surfaced several weeks ago. He was originally placed on administrative leave by the school district Aug. 10.

District officials said that Magee has had no contact with this year's teams.

Magee has been a district employee since 2005. He took over as head soccer coach for the 2008 season. Assistant soccer coach Joe Scott has been named the new head coach.

Prosecutors say a woman who was on the high school soccer team recently reported that she and Magee had sexual encounters at his home in 2009. The girl was younger than 17 at the time.

Magee had been employed by the school district since 2005, teaching special education and physical education. He stopped teaching but became boys and girls soccer coach in 2008.

The Willard school district is asking any past or present students who may have information about Magee to come forward and inform district officials.
