Four Smith-Cotton High School students performed July 23 in Jefferson City as part of the Missouri Choral Directors Association’s All-State Show Choir. Shown, from left, are Stephen Weeks, Lanie Beard, former S-C Director of Vocal Music Chris Kindle, Haleigh Carson and Noah Burnett. The students were selected through an audition process. Selected but unable to participate was S-C’s Ashlyn Witt. Kindle, who stepped down to pursue his doctoral degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia, said: “This is a prestigious honor for these kids. The whole state sends in auditions and to be selected is the top honor a show choir student can achieve. They only select 50 students from the state. These four were an amazing representation of Smith-Cotton and Sedalia. I was truly honored and blessed to take these students and for this to have been my last thing as the director of choral music.”
